Coastal Engineer

Jared Ortiz-Angulo has a MSc in Civil Engineer from the University of Granada, an Expert Degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a MSc in Coastal and Port Engineering from the University of Cantabria. Since 2017 he has been working as project manager in all fields of maritime and coastal projects

His Master’s Project Work “Design of an artificial surfing reef at Somo-Loredo beach” was awarded the III Edition of IIAMA awards given to the best Academic National Work in the field of Water Engineering. 

He has recently been consulted as a specialist for the drafting of the allegation presented by the Spanish Surf Federation for the protection of the Largo’s wave (Malaga).

Jared belongs to the Technical Committee for Coastal Engineering and Management of The Spanish Technical Association of Ports and Coasts (ATPYC) and he is Young Professional representation of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) within the Group of work related to Meteo-oceanographic Risks on maritime-coastal constructions MarCom WG 232 Metocean-Related Risks during the construction of marine Works

Since 2017 he regularly collaborates with the prestigious Spanish surfing magazine “Surfer Rule” with technical and scientific articles. 

Born in Marbella, but due to his passion for surfing he moved to Cantabria, where he currently lives since 2015
